We believe strongly in bringing a builder into the process in the early design stages to weigh in on unique construction challenges, provide cost estimates, and help us keep abreast of new possibilities in the practice of residential construction. Once permits have been obtained, the owner has approved the budget and construction begins, we stay close to the job for the duration. This collaboration often leads to creative, cost-effective solutions. This small bathroom on The Sea Ranch had leaking fixtures that could not be replaced. By working closely with Empire Contracting, Inc., David Moulton AIA designed a counter top of Douglas Fir, using scrap wood from the rest of the remodel, and selected a cost-effective, easily-obtained new sink and faucet. This collaborative effort turned a pile of scrap wood into an elegant, cost-effective bathroom that speaks to both the house and surrounding landscape.
